Named for its highly upright, narrow growing form, the Javelin is the narrowest growing form of Pyrus currently available in Australia and is an exceptional choice for those tight on lateral space. Perfect for use in all garden situations, as an avenue, along a fence line, or to bring vertical lies into the garden/open spaces.
After purchasing these beauties in a juvenile state from award-winning Fleming’s Nurseries in Melbourne, they have been grown and nurtured at Winwood Advanced Tree nursery in Gordon, Victoria.

FOLIAGE
New growth emerges purple before turning glossy green. Foliage will turn to vibrant shades of burgundy and red during autumn.
CULTURE
Adaptable to a range of site conditions including quite dry soils, slightly alkaline soils and air-pollution. Also able to tolerate intermittently wet, heavy soils.
FLOWERS
White flowers are borne in corymbs in spring.
FRUIT
Small inedible fruit can be produced if suitably pollinated.
SIZE
The Javelin Ornamental Pear grows to 10m x 2.5m in size.
